Happy New Year

Well another year has come to a close.  This is a time to look forward to 2009; make plans and dream about what the coming year holds.

I am so thankful to be surrounded by the wonderful artists of the Battle River Art Club.  I really do not think I would have progressed to where I am today without the support and the help of everyone in the club.  I know many of you feel the same.

Kudo’s have to go to the original members who have carried the club throughout the years to where it is today.  We appreciate you and we acknowledge you – and you all know who you are!!

So here’s to 2009 – May we all grow as artists and may our club continue to enjoy the comradarie and fellowship that makes BRAC such a success.

Keep those paintbrushes full and Happy Painting!!

Another Lesson from Sharon

Hopefully you all had a great Christmas and got exactly what you wanted.

I was cruising the internet this morning and happened to visit Sharon William’s blog. There was a whole step by step lesson on making watercolor xmas cards.

Of course, it is now Dec 28, so too late for me this year; but maybe if I start now………

A Lesson in Painting

I happened to be surfing through some of the links on the blog (as I often do to get inspired) and noticed that Sharon Williams actually has two “how to” lessons on painting waterfalls on her blog.  It would be great practice to follow along with her as she gives instruction on how to make a painting from photo to art.

Time to Fight for Your Country!

We had a rousing political discussion at Art tonight about the future of our country and the anger we all felt at how every one of the political parties was acting during this time of economic crisis.  Suggestions were made that emails needed to be sent to these children to tell them to grow up and get on with doing what they were elected to do.  So to that end, below are some email addresses you can use if you want to express how you feel about what is happening.

The Governor General Because the Governor General now has the final decision as to whether to allow the coalition or to deny it, perhaps expressing your feelings to her will make a difference.

308 members of parliament You can download the list into word then copy and paste the email addresses into your email.  Note:the email list is divided into10 batches so as not to overload Outlook Express. Copy and paste into the “TO”: section, and your email program will add the semicolons as it sends.

It is time to stand up and tell them all that we are unhappy with how they are acting.
